About
PACEY Cymru is here to support people who work with and look after children in Wales. PACEY Cymru supports those working in childcare and early years to provide high quality care and early learning for children and families.
We work with the Welsh Government, Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), Social Care Wales, Estyn, local authorities and other organisations and agencies to ensure families across Wales have access to affordable, quality childcare.
Quality
All early years, childcare and play settings should continually review the quality of their provision. Reflecting on provision and practice is a driver for continuous improvement. A quality assurance scheme or quality improvement tool can help you to self evaluate your service and plan for improvement.
This can provide evidence to regulators (for example CIW and Estyn), parents and funders that you;
- aim beyond the National Minimum Standards required for CIW registration
- aspire to provide a high quality service to children in your care and their families
- provide children with quality play, learning and development opportunities
- can identify your professional development needs and those of any staff members

PACEY's training is designed to help you meet the requirements of your registration and to give you the skills and experience you need to provide high-quality professional childcare. It is also important to be aware of the role of Social Care Wales in supporting development of the childcare and early years workforce in Wales to ensure they have the best knowledge and skills.
